Death Toll from Vietnam Flooding Hits Forty
The deluge has inundated nearly 80,000 residential structures throughout the region, while 104 homes were completely destroyed or washed away by floodwaters. An additional 453 houses sustained damage, according to the authority's latest assessment.
Agricultural devastation has reached alarming levels, with more than 10,800 hectares of rice paddies and cropland now underwater. The disaster has also killed or swept away over 68,500 head of livestock and poultry, dealing a severe blow to farming communities.
Power infrastructure has collapsed across vast areas, leaving more than 163,200 households without electricity, the report stated.
The heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding have ravaged Vietnam's central provinces, creating a humanitarian crisis as rescue operations continue and authorities assess the full scope of the damage.
